Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP)

The Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) is an economic immigration program that nominates people for permanent residence in Alberta. Candidates must have the skills to fill job shortages or be planning to buy or start a business in Alberta.

If you are nominated through one of the streams, you may be eligible to apply for permanent residence together with your spouse or common-law partner and dependent children. AINP Streams

Streams for workers

The AINP has two streams for international skilled workers who plan to live and work in Alberta:

• Alberta Opportunity Stream: Candidates who have a valid job offer from an Alberta employer can apply under this stream.
• Alberta Express Entry Stream: Candidates with a valid Express Entry profile may be invited by AINP to apply for permanent residence.

Streams for entrepreneurs

The AINP has three streams for entrepreneurs who plan to live, buy, or start a business in Alberta:

• International Graduate Entrepreneur Stream: International graduates from approved post-secondary institutions who want to start or buy a business in Alberta can submit an EOI.
• Self Employed Farmer Stream: Experienced farmers who plan to buy or start a farm in Alberta can apply under this stream for permanent residence.
• Foreign Graduate Start-up Visa Stream: Foreign graduates from outside Canada can apply under this stream for permanent residence.
